Eye Examination (Vision Checkup)
from €60

An eye exam involves a series of tests to evaluate your vision and check for eye diseases. Your eye doctor may use a variety of instruments, shine bright lights directly at your eyes and request that you look through an array of lenses. Each test during an eye exam evaluates a different aspect of your vision or eye health.

From the first contact to the very last examination a year after my ReLEx SMILE operation, I knew I was in good hands.
A friend had recommended the International Vision Centers clinic in Amsterdam after his operation a few months before. After the initial test, I was told that due to my very thin cornea, the chance of retaining a small deviation was quite high. Because of this, I would not be able to have any other forms of treatment and would not be allowed to have another surgery afterwards. Since I already had -5 in my left eye and -4,5 in the right, I still decided that it was worth a try.
The operation itself took about 10 minutes. After it was over, I was sure that wouldn't be allowed to open my eyes until later, and how surprised I was when the doctor told me to do so, and I could actually see! Yes, it was still blurry and foggy, but I guess I'd expected much less.
In the following 24 hours the vision was becoming clearer and clearer. I did lie in a dark room for a couple of hours feeling like there was sand in my eyes (although it was not as bad as I'd expected), but after that I could basically function normally. Already the next day I was amazed how sharp I could see, even though my vision was still only at about 70%.
To cut a long story short, I've had the best outcome possible. Due to luck, or more probably, due to this fantastic new technology and the excellent skill of the eye surgeon, my vision is completely restored. I was also initially warned against halos (light circles around lit objects, especially in the evenings and during the night), but only had in a very light form and not for very long, during first few weeks.
Last but not least, from the beginning to the end of my treatment, all the staff members I've been in contact with (doctors, optometrists, nurses and receptionists) have been friendly and attentive. I've always been well informed and all the appointments were kept. Therefore, I can warmly recommend the International Vision Centers.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Worldeye. Everyone from receptionist to optometrist to the surgeon is incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. I had my PRK surgery about 3 month ago and while the road of recovery was not always easy - especially in the beginning - the end result is more than I could have wished for and so was the support I received during this time. The procedure was well explained and properly executed. And I was able to come in for check ups as much as I needed (even outside of the scheduled check ups) to feel reassured that my eyes are healing as expected. I could not recommend this clinic enough and I want to thank everyone for their patience and friendliness!
